Dip Tray — Step by Step

Posted: November 11, 2011 in Crafts, D.I.Y, Home, Party

I posted a few weeks back about the dip tray I made…  Well through emails I learned you guys want a step by step guide to making it…

History of my $3.oo tray

Bored day, went to Dollar Tree got  a plate and a bowl and was on my way home to make a dip tray…

So I washed it…. didn’t take a picture because EVERYONE knows how to do that. I dried it and it was another step that I know everyone can do without a picture.

So I added the glue to the candle stick… The glue is mixed with orange paint so I can mark my spot… I simply put glue on the the bottom of the candle stick holder….

I put it on the plate so I can mark it…. Once I marked it

Once I marked it I applied more glue to it and placed it all together.  I used a lot of glue …Let it sit for 2 minutes so it could get sticky/ tacky…

Put it on the center of the plate.held it down . Added glue to the top of the candle stick..Let it sit for 2 minutes so it can get sticky/tacky like we did to the bottom 3 minutes prior. Put the bowl on top and hold it down

all you need to make this

  • 1 plate
  • 1 bowl
  • 1 candle stick holder
  • or vase
  • E-6000 glue
PLEASE LET IT SIT… I RAN OUTSIDE TO SHOW MY HUSBAND….
BAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
IT DROPPED AND I HAD TO REDO IT… LOL

Homemade Candy Buffet Jars

Posted: October 6, 2011 in Crafts, D.I.Y, Party
there are some things i just can’t throw away.
glass jars…. are one of those things.
why?  do you ask.
because first of all i store all sorts of stuff in them.
embroidery floss, buttons, pom pom trim, etc…
and secondly…
you can make things with them.
i took these jars and turned them into….
these jars.
and of course it’s so simple.
i just spray painted my candlesticks and lids.
(with a grey primer first. helps to cover the writing on the jars)
then used some E6000 glue and glued the jars on top.
fill them up with whatever you’d like.
i found some gumballs and sixlets at party city. love how they are so bright and fun!
then i just added some green shredded paper and some candies to the other jar.
and the fun part is
i can switch them out with the holidays/seasons!!
gotta love it!  🙂

Pink Party

Posted: October 5, 2011 in Food, Party
Spotted over at Hostess with the Mostess, this gorgeous pink party is inspired by the Nutcracker Ballet.
This is a beautiful and unique party theme for a girl of all with a birthday in late November/December! The dessert table is filled with gorgeous goodies fit for a ballerina or princess, and the shimmering details are exquisite. I am inspired by this party. Might take a few ideas for my 30th birthday party in December. that I rounded up a few details to accent the idea.

Back To School Party

One Charming Party put together some amazing and fun ideas for Back to School. How cute is the school supplies “buffet”? There’s something so fun about new pencils, pens, paper clips and fresh notebooks… don’t you think? Help your little ones prepare for their first day of class, or a return to school with a Back to School Party. Ask other neighborhood Moms to lend a hand with the party, and the excitement is sure to build. Set up a school supplies buffet, just like One Charming Party has done, and have each child select their supplies and place them in a new backpack. Ask the older kids to give tips and share their experience with the first timers. Before you know it, your kids will be so excited to board the bus on their first day!
